The heart of Mom Heart Ministry is Sally Clarkson. Sally is the mother of four wholehearted children—Sarah (1984), Joel (1986), Nathan (1989), and Joy (1995). Before marrying Clay in 1981, she earned a degree in Speech/English, ministered to students and executives, and was a missionary in Communist Poland. After Clay completed seminary, they went on to serve as missionaries in Austria and as staff with several churches before starting Whole Heart Ministries in 1994. Sally and Clay home educated all of their children through high school.
For most of her adult life, Sally has championed Christian motherhood. She has written numerous popular books on motherhood, several of which have been translated into Chinese, Dutch, French, Korean, and other languages. She has encouraged mothers since 1998 through annual Mom Heart Conferences, and through speaking nationally and internationally. She also blogs regularly for Christian women on her personal website, SallyClarkson.com, and personally trains and disciples mothers online and in her home through her Mom Heart Intensives.
As her children all leave home to follow God into new lives, Sally takes seriously her new role as a Titus 2 older woman in encouraging the next generation of mothers in their walk and ministry with God. She envisions women here in the United States and around the world gathering in Mom Heart groups to read and discuss her books, and other resources, to help one another become the mothers, wives, and women God wants them to become. She believes mothers are an under-served mission field–mothers are raising the next generation of God’s people, Christ’s church, and will have enormous impact on the future through their spiritual influence at home. They are doing the “heart work” of building God’s kingdom in the world.
